Bike Salesperson

Ideal candidates have bike industry experience and a passion to help people. A background in selling and speaking about road, mountain, gravel, and e-bike technology is preferred. Basic bike fit, understanding of apparel and accessories a plus. Duties include sales and customer service. We will train the right candidate. A positive attitude is essential. 

Full-time, year-round positions available for the right candidates.

Expectations: Familiarity with the nuances of various full suspension designs, high end road bikes, e-bikes. Patience and compassion to educate beginning riders alongside seasoned athletes. Attention to detail. Passion for learning. Strong communication skills necessary. Computer literate. Solution oriented problem solver. Ability to work weekends. Familiarity with Lightspeed or another POS system a plus.

Bike Mechanic

Wheelworks is looking for an experienced service technician to join our team. This position requires a mechanic with previous experience who is able to diagnose and complete repairs on all types of bicycles. Applicant should be familiar with various manufacturers, be able to assemble new bikes, and complete quality assurance inspections. 

Full-time, year-round position: Starting now.

Expectations:  Perform repairs of bicycles and components daily. Prioritize daily repairs to meet deadlines. Research part compatibility and availability as needed with repairs. Deliver a high level of customer service through thorough communication and high-quality repairs. Ensure proper safety practices are being followed. Provide consistent communication between sales and service departments. Actively contribute to a positive work environment. Maintain a high degree of cleanliness and organization of the repair shop.

Experience:  Minimum of 1-2 years of professional bicycle mechanic experience. Completion of Barnett’s or UBI courses a plus. A solid grasp of current technology (Di2, AXS, Force, ebike systems: Specialized, Shimano Steps, Bosch, Stromer). Proficiency using tech docs is expected.

Cashier/Accessory Sales

Wheelworks is looking to hire multiple seasonal front-of-house positions for our stores. We are seeking staff to work as a liaison between senior staff and customers. This role will require delivering new and serviced bikes to customers, as well as cashiering all sales. Employees in this position will be expected to restock accessories and perform store cleaning duties in down time, as well as assisting with loading and unloading deliveries. Minimum 14 years old and the ability to lift 50 lbs is required, we will train all else.

Seasonal Position:  May through September 30-October 15

Inventory Control Specialist 

The Wheelworks inventory control specialist will track inventory and stock changes. Your responsibilities will include overseeing inventory control, managing deliveries, inspecting inventory and maintaining inventory records. You will need the flexibility to work in our Belmont store and in our Somerville warehouse from time to time. Other duties include reporting inventory levels and issues to management, looking for any discrepancy with inventory, and creating reports that show available inventory or issues with inventory counts. You will help with creating policies to ensure efficient inventory control and for other employees to accurately track inventory data.

Full-time, year-round position: Starting now.

Responsibilities: Audit the company’s inventory on a regular basis and create a plan for doing so. Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of inventory.  Work with sales, purchasing and ecommerce teams.

Required:  Familiarity with Lightspeed preferred. Basic Excel Skills required.  Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and solve problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Displays the ability to multitask.  Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes of 50lbs.
