Bike Shop Manager

We are hiring for a manager of our Wheelworks Too location, which is our kids’ and family store, offering bikes for toddlers to adult-height, alongside BMX bikes and tandem bikes. This position offers the right candidate the opportunity to make an impact on kids and young adults.

Seasonal Position: March through September 30-October 15

Expectations: A positive team player with a minimum of 2-3 years of sales and management experience (bicycle retail experience preferred). Bike assembly experience desired. Customer service, communication, problem solving, and leadership skills. Fluency in Lightspeed POS system. Able to stand for long periods and lift boxes up to 50lbs. Must work weekends and some evenings, with flexibility. Bicycle enthusiast with prior outdoor industry retail sales experience desired.

Responsibilities:  Supervise a retail and assembly team. Responsible for front-of-house operations including opening, closing, customer relations, processing online orders, among other duties. Work closely with leadership team.  Enforce strict COVID-19 precautions and protocols, revised biweekly.

Bike Salesperson

Ideal candidates have bike industry experience and a passion to help people. A background in selling and speaking about road, mountain, gravel, and ebike technology is preferred. Basic bike fit, understanding of apparel and accessories a plus. Duties include sales and customer service. We will train the right candidate. 

Seasonal Position: March through September 30-October 15

Expectations: Familiarity with the nuances of various full suspension designs, high end road bikes, ebikes. Patience and compassion to educate beginning riders alongside seasoned athletes. Attention to detail. Passion for learning. Strong communication skills. Computer literate. Solution oriented problem solver. Ability to work weekends.

Bike Mechanic

Wheelworks in Belmont, MA is looking for experienced service technicians to join our team. This position requires a mechanic with previous experience who is able to diagnose and complete repairs on bicycles of all nature from various manufacturers, assemble new bikes, and complete quality assurance inspections. 

Full-time, year-round position: Starting now.

Expectations: Perform repairs of bicycles and components daily. Prioritize daily repairs to meet deadlines. Research part compatibility and availability as needed with repairs. Deliver a high level of customer service through thorough communication and high-quality repairs. Ensure proper safety practices are being followed. Provide consistent communication between sales and service departments. Actively contribute to a positive work environment. Maintain a high degree of cleanliness and organization of the repair shop.

Experience:  Minimum of 1-2 years of professional bicycle mechanic experience. Completion of Barnett’s or UBI courses a plus. A solid grasp of current technology (Di2, AXS, Force, ebike systems: Specialized, Shimano Steps, Bosch, Stromer). Proficiency using tech docs is expected.

Bike Assembler

Do you love bikes and want to help get more people riding this summer? Join our team! We are looking for bike builders full time and part time. Bike builders are responsible for assembling bikes for inventory and customer sales, while striving to be a positive, friendly, and professional member of the team. 

Seasonal Position: March through September 30-October 15

Expectations: Work in service department ship building and assembling bikes. Be punctual for all shifts. Assist in maintaining a clean and well-organized workbench

Experience:  Familiarity with bikes and willing to learn basic mechanic skills. Attention to detail. Must be able to routinely lift 50lbs. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, holidays and weekends.

E-commerce Fulfilment Associate

Wheelworks is currently looking for a motivated and friendly individual to take on a unique opportunity within our e-commerce team.  The online sales department is responsible for the growth, day-to-day management, and implementation of various e-commerce initiatives. As an e-commerce fulfillment associate you will be exposed to a broad range of tasks including but not limited to: order fulfillment, assisting customers make purchases online, answering customer support emails, and resolving customer issues. In this role you will also have the opportunity to work closely with the E-commerce Manager and E-commerce Buyer, learning about how the e-commerce side of our business operates. This position will be based in the Belmont store and is full time seasonal. Positions starts mid-March and mid- October.

Duties: Process e-commerce orders. Communicate with customers via phone, email, and chat, providing knowledgeable answers to questions about products, services, pricing, and availability.  Assist the E-commerce Manager with projects. Help customers navigate wheelworks.com and place orders online. Other duties as needed.

Qualifications:  High school diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years customer service / sales experience in bicycle industry. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Excel is a plus. Lightspeed POS, Smartetailing, and stamps.com experience a plus. Ability to work weekends and holidays

Inventory Control Specialist 

The Wheelworks inventory control specialist will track inventory and stock changes. Your responsibilities will include overseeing inventory control, managing deliveries, inspecting inventory and maintaining inventory records. You will need the flexibility to work in our Belmont store and in our Somerville warehouse from time to time. Other duties include reporting inventory levels and issues to management, looking for any discrepancy with inventory, and creating reports that show available inventory or issues with inventory counts. You will help with creating policies to ensure efficient inventory control and for other employees to accurately track inventory data.

Full-time, year-round position: Starting now.

Responsibilities: Audit the company’s inventory on a regular basis and create a plan for doing so. Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of inventory.  Work with sales, purchasing and ecommerce teams.

Required:  Familiarity with Lightspeed preferred. Basic Excel Skills required.  Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and solve problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Displays the ability to multitask.  Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes of 50lbs.

Ebike technician

We’re looking for a professional bicycle technician with a passion for ebikes.

Full-time, year-round position: Starting now.

Required:  Multiple years’ technical and mechanical experience working as a professional in a bicycle industry position. Common shop tools are provided but each individual is required to have a complete set of professional quality bicycle tools at their disposal. This is especially true in the e-bike category.  Proficiency in Lightspeed POS is a plus. A working knowledge of various motor systems including Bosch, Brose, and Shimano. Familiarity with Stromer and Gocycle is a plus.
